I enjoy a wide range of interests, including:

Music: Playing guitar and other instruments; I enjoy composing/writing as much (if not more than) live performance
Software and game development: making life easier or more fun by writing code
Making things: my daughter and I have built a robotic kitten and are currently working on a weather station
Writing: it helps me think more clearly
Playing: I thoroughly enjoy a well-made game; some of my faves are Love Letter, Slay the Spire, and D&D

Here are a few projects I've worked on recently:

Reharmonizing the tune "Midna's Lament" from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and making a video for it with several talented homies
Contributing music to an indie game demo made by my friend
Developing and producing a roguelike video game about space pirates (in progress now!)
Learning Japanese alongside my daughter
Learning about machine learning and AI

1986: born in NC
1991: started playing piano
1999: started playing bass guitar, then guitar
2001: toured the Southeast US playing music at churches
2002: toured again
2003: toured again
2008: married my sweetheart
2009: our daughter was born
2010: started a new band ( The Coming Dawn ) with an old friend
2011: went to UNCC to get a 4-year degree
2013: started work as a consultant
2013: earned a BA in Anthropology and Global, International, and Area Studies, plus a Certificate in Translation Studies (Spanish-->English)
2014: moved to another town in NC
2014: my daughter started kindergarten
2016: left my band; it was fun while it lasted
2020: bought a house and moved again
2021: started homeschooling our daughter
